Meet Shawna Park
Hi, I’m Shawna! I’m so glad you found my page. Reaching out for therapy takes courage and I want you to feel welcomed from the very start.
I have been a practicing mental health therapist since 2009. I graduated from Ohio University with an undergraduate degree in Family Studies and a Master's degree in Social Work. I've had the privilege to work in a variety of settings, including community mental health centers, drug and alcohol inpatient and outpatient programs, and both group and individual private practice. I am a Licensed Individual Social Worker with a Supervisor Designation (also known as LISW-S).
I believe you are the expert on your own life, already possessing the insight and capability for growth—sometimes you just need a safe space to uncover it. My priority is ensuring you feel truly seen and validated as we navigate the vulnerability of the therapy process together.
I bring a blend of warmth, curiosity, and humor to our sessions. I value connecting on a genuine, human level. My goal is to help you better understand your experiences by connecting more deeply with your body and emotions. Healing happens when we shift our negative belief systems and bring our mind, values and emotions into alignment. Together, we’ll tap into your innate strengths to forge a path forward that feels authentic to you.
Outside of work, my favorite role is being a mom to my two girls. My husband and I stay busy keeping up with their sporting events and community activities, which I love—though I definitely value my 'quiet time' to balance out my social side. I’m someone who finds joy in the simple things, whether it’s shopping at Home Goods with girlfriends or curling up on the couch with a good book (or watching reality TV, more likely!).
All of that being said — I believe the best work happens when we truly connect, and I look forward to building that relationship with you!
